9th July - Guerrilla Gallery - Tayside Recyclers, Opening Event
Join us at Tayside Recyclers Emporium and Dance Lounge for the official opening of Dundee Live.
As regulars will know, there'll be a chance to submit your own artwork - and other creative forays - to be screened on the night. (See www.guerrillagallery.org for submission details.) We'll be joined, once again, by Dundee's growing tagtool aficionados, and for the low-tech among you there'll be our usual OHPs for live drawing. VJing will be supplied by Retchy v Smash and tunes will be piped by Dr Congo and Peg Dub. On this occassion we'll also be joined by Zoe Sawane and others for some African dance, Kaspar Bradshaw and Fionnlagh Ballantine for hybrid folk, Jo Foster and friends for living room acoustic, Raz Ullah and Gavin Smith for post-industrial drone (with a surprise on the night), and a rabbit by the name of Mike.
This will also be your chance to wander around the Emporium enjoying numerous Dundee Live animations by Mary Somerville. Oh, and apparently, Mary and Alison will be playing, or perhaps tuning, the recycler's numerous organs. (I beg your pardon?)
If that's not enough there'll be a bar and fairy lights. And somewhere in the mix a bike light disco, perhaps.
What: Multimedia event inc music, film, and dance.
Where: Tayside Recyclers, Units 1 - 2 South Dudhope Hill, Douglas Street, DD1 5AN.
When: 9th July 8pm 'til midnight.
Once again, we'd like to thank staff and volunteers at Tayside Recyclers who say, and demonstrate, that creativity is the antidote to consumerism.
