Commencing 07/01/12 - Line Walk / Mindful Drawing

Jonathan Baxter line drawing D-AiR Dundee Artists in Residence

Stepping out of Dundee and into Fife, these workshops incorporate walking and drawing. Following the same footpath each month, participants will be invited to pay attention to their breathing and to the environment in which they breathe. At regular intervals we'll pause and make a drawing.

With the two-fold intention of cultivating mindfulness and the 'seeing through' of drawing, the culmination of these workshops will be deeper awareness and a small book of drawings.

No previous experience is necessary. Walking boots are desirable. A pencil and a sketchpad are optional.

Everyone is welcome. Walking and drawing are FREE.

For further details or to confirm your intendance please send D-AiR an email.

i think making artworks is part of the process of the artist becoming conscious. the artwork can be seen as a document of this process, so if you are following what an artist does you will see how his (sic) work changes many times. that happens as a result of his own experience of his work and, of course, of other experiences that he brings to it. i'm not the same, i'm still the same, but i am not the same. herman de vries
